Disappointing experience for a family member (NOT me). He went to Joanne for counseling. She demanded cash payments. Plus $450 cash evaluation even though he has insurance. Only gives a generic receipt with no info. When asked to submit claims, she told him to submit himself which only got denied because receipts are generic with no information. Insurance finally contacted Joanne and explained she had to submit claims. She submitted some, not all. Insurance processed claims and informed us and Joanne that she was overcharging sessions by $15 per session and over $300 overcharging on evaluation. Insurance also stated she is not allowed to make him pay the discount since she is IN-Network. Therefore she owes him $493.15 for overcharging. When questioned, her response was my rates are my rates. Ummm, no that is why she is in network, there are agreed rates. She has been informed to refund him the overcharged amounts by the insurance company, still not done. Plus she collected from the insurance and my husband on a couple claims ( illegal!!) so now owes $648.78. You stole $170.42 by collecting from my husand AND the insurance company that paid you on 8/4/23. He was going to eat the overage because he really liked her as a person but the very next counseling session she told him, rates are going up another $20, reason doesnt matter. So instead of overcharging $15/session, it will now be $35. It's a shame she takes advantage of those already in a vulnerable position . He was really hoping for a positive outcome with her, he did like her personality but not that she was overcharging. Her reply, it never happened is a joke. There are texts, receipts and emails to prove. Insurance company emails stating they left her messages that this is “Not allowed” . What a shame! Joanne, You don’t know me but you scammed my family member. Shameful, you don’t care about people. 1.8 stars review proves all that people need to know. All but 1 review is bad.
