I wanted to seek care at this facility but when I was seen by Donavan I explained I would really appreciate being put back on a prescription that I was on for 8 years. A simple no would have sufficed, but he went on to lecture me for 15 minutes in a incredibly condescending manner. I wanted to use this facility because it's closer to home and I take non narcotic medicine as it is and was trying to reduce my commute but he assumed I was some kind of druggy and lectured as I said in a very condescending way. Avoid this place not for their prescription policy but for their terrible interpersonal tact and lack of empathy. Terrible staff I doubt they can even handle a case load.

I would not recommend Gulfview Counseling. Appointments were always started late and there was a consistent lack of professionalism throughout my experience. On multiple occasions, I observed Colleen smoking immediately before appointments, which created an uncomfortable environment for her clients. When I arrived for my last appointment, Colleen was already 25 minutes late and went outside to smoke. After waiting for almost 30 minutes past my appointment time, I was then told I would have to reschedule because my intake paperwork was incomplete and she “didn’t have time” to print the paperwork before her next appointment. I had been seeing Colleen for months before this incident with no issues regarding administrative intake/patient portal. In addition to the tardiness, the office staff member, Jack, was very demeaning during our interaction and spoke in a sharp, unprofessional tone. Rather than being helpful or understanding, the communication felt rude and dismissive, which added to an already frustrating experience. The situation felt very unprofessional and disrespectful of my time, especially considering the appointment had already started significantly late due to her delay. After I left, I received a text message from Colleen stating everything I supposedly could have done to avoid the reschedule, rather than attempting to resolve the situation professionally or acknowledge the inconvenience caused by the late appointment and communication issues. The response felt defensive instead of solution focused. Communication and reliability are extremely important in mental health services, and unfortunately those standards were not met. I will not be back.
