I HIGHLY recommend Newport! I sent my 9 year old across the country to the CA location for “littles.” It was one of the harder things I have ever had to do. I told myself the entire flight that we would check out the place, and turn around and all go home if I had any hesitations. I had searched online and found every negative review, but understood how that can be a polarizing view.

When our daughter first entered Newport Academy, she was struggling significantly with her mental health and attempted suicide in June 2024. We were deeply concerned and felt at a loss for how to help her as a result of not having firm boundaries within our family.

Newport saved my childs life. I was so nervous while doing my research prior to applying. My child had already been in short term stay facilities 4 times in one year and there were many traumatic experiences in those other places which was what made me nervous. But speaking to doctors and therapists that had heard good things about Newport and then talking with the staff at Newport, I felt comfortable seeking their help for my child. The staff went above and beyond in caring for my child. They were kind and very professional and truly took the time to help her. I adored our family therapist and found this part of the program to be one of the most influential and positive parts. Being able to sit down with us and talk with everyone and really dig deep into issues made a world of difference in our family. My child was able to stay until she was ready, through all the therapies and learning activities, rather than being sent home without having learned any coping skills like the other places she went. My child has been back home doing amazing for the last 2.5 years and they still check in with us regularly in case anything changes. I have never felt more supported, like they are my village that it sometimes takes to raise a child. Forever grateful, forever blessed. Thank you Newport!!!
