Mental Health Providers in Colby, Kansas

I went through high plains to get medication for adhd. The people that work here are very nice and do a good job but the whole process I had to do has been a waste of my time and money. I had 2 different appointments before I could get medication. The first one I filled out paperwork and had to talk to two different people through screens. The asked me pretty much the same questions I answered on the paper. It's also awkward talking to someone through a screen. I can't imagine how hard that would be for someone with anxiety. About a week later a got to talk to a third person through a screen and finally got set up with some meds. I was told that the insurance will cover it by the doctor but when I went to pick it up I had to wait for prior authorization so I couldn't pick it up that day. After I got prior authorization the medication still cost me $259. I understand that the cost of the medication is the insurance companies issue and not high plains but still. The bill for all of my appointments cost me over $300. Insurance is a scam and if your looking for mental health in Colby KS your pretty much screwed. Glad I could waste my time and money on trying to help myself. Thanks American health insurance!
