UPDATE: After 4+ weeks, numerous correspondences, and finally after spending $1,000 and getting two notifications from our attorney Ramey/Estep sent our health records over. Our experience with Ramey K-Step has been absolutely disheartening and unacceptable. This organization seems to take advantage of people who are already in a vulnerable and disadvantaged place in their lives, using promises of support and professionalism as a façade while engaging in shady, inconsistent, and obstructive practices. Despite making five separate formal requests for our health records—including electronic health records—we were met with delays, broken promises, and outright disregard for our rights. It wasn’t until we had to involve an attorney—resulting in unnecessary stress, costs, and wasted time—that we were finally able to get any response. This should never have been necessary if Ramey K-Step adhered to the standards outlined in their own Client’s Rights guidelines. The lack of transparency in their dealings is appalling. They consistently failed to provide clear and accurate information, while simultaneously sharing details with the Department for Community Based Services (DCBS) without our explicit consent or proper documentation. Verbal commitments from staff members, such as Brady Eams, were later contradicted, leaving us in a state of confusion and distrust. Promises of timely responses were broken time and time again, while information we were entitled to was intentionally withheld. It is deeply troubling that an organization meant to help those in need operates in such an unethical manner. Instead of offering genuine assistance, they seem to exploit their clients' vulnerable situations, adding unnecessary stress and hardship to an already difficult time. If you are considering working with Ramey K-Step, I urge you to proceed with caution. Their lack of accountability, unprofessional behavior, and disregard for client rights are not worth the trouble. This experience has been a costly and exhausting reminder of how critical it is to choose an organization that truly values integrity and client welfare.
