This place was moderately helpful at best. My teen son started seeing the team at Grand 2 years ago. I wanted to leave a review before due to what I believed were serious discrepancies in their services, but I decided to wait & give the process some time. They have people working at Grand that have “recovered” from their own mental health issues. I’m sure that this can be helpful in many regards due to experiences one has overcoming these issues. Unfortunately, our care coordinator was a real challenge to work with. She was very susceptible to the manipulation of a troubled teen & combined with her own personal problems, got herself into some tricky situations with my 17yo son, such as taking him from my home “to go hang out” without my permission. It was pure chaos. Two years of pure chaos for a family already torn by mental health issues, just trying to get help & assistance. My son’s therapist got inaccurate or jumbled info from the care coordinator. The care coordinator got info from my son, ignored me, disregarded important info from me & failed to follow up or verify any information, while sending misinformation to the team. I finally figured out what was going on & had to send a letter demanding a staff change for the care coordinator when she came into my home, knocking on my bedroom door (I’m not kidding). All this correlated with my son’s behavior turning into an empowered abusive teen (I was battered by him & still continue to be verbally abused by him) that was in & out of hospitals for 2 years. After a new care coordinator was assigned, all communications were cold & prompt by staff at Grand and they quickly pressured to discharge my son from the system. He was set to discharge soon already but there was a major sense of urgency. The things that I can say were helpful was some of the methods my son was taught by his therapist to control his behavior, the flexibility of having virtual appointments, and the accessibility of the crisis line on the provided ipad (which was promptly replaced after my son decided to destroy one). For these things, I am grateful.
