My dad got cancer and I was working long hours with health problem in far distance. No one ever told me Bipolar 1 has depressed mood. I wish they can teach all the family members about this illness information. They only asked me to watch out for manic (High energy) and no sleeping sign. I don't ever know how to tell is a person getting depressed or getting well? I wish they can tell me to take Bipolar member to the emergency room or a place to let my mom to stay until she got recover. All they gave me is a after hour phone number. I had been telling them my mom has been worry for some items since 6 years ago, her anxiety was getting worse from over time. All they did was moved the Dr. appointment closer. I asked my mom how was the appointment and what type of question did the doctor asked you? She always told me, “ same as usually (Dr asked her how are you, how do you feel, straight up your hands).” It tooks a week to get confirmed one question for my mom needed to increased sleeping pills. Mom saw Dr. a month before and the RN was almost two weeks before her suicide. They are very busy, RN sent me an email on the same day that she wants to come to my mom home to see her. I only check personal email after work, and by the time I checked my email I already missed the nurse visit time. If they didn’t suggested my mom try the new med, my mom wouldn't suicides. “Dr. stated we can change your Mom to Lamictal, however, she does not feel it will hold her psychosis. She also feels it will not reduce the tremors but we can try.“ I told them no on the phone, since it’s not going to hold her psychosis. “Dr. said that her neurologist wants a trial of the lamictal and she would like follow his advice”.
