I was explaining to my NP and caseworker that I had to get out of the hospital by Wednesday 3/26 in order to make a flight to attend my childhood best friends wedding. My caseworker who's name I don't recall, took it upon herself to add insult to injury and tell me that I wouldn't have been able to attend the wedding anyway if my attempt was successful. Proceeded to insinuate that because I had communicated to them that I had an orthopedic appointment on 3/24 and onboarding at my new job on 3/25 and now this wedding to attend that I was making up obligations for whatever reason. I had only communicated the appointment and the onboarding so I could receive phone numbers to cancel those things while I was in the hospital. In the same conversation this happened the NP and caseworker told me on Tuesday 3/25 that I had only been in treatment for two days and it was unlikely I would be out on time for my flight which was so wild to me bc my Live Oak hospital bracelet said I was admitted Friday 3/21. Whenever I said that to them they went back into their papers and adjusted to 3 days which was still inaccurate as you can probably calculate 25-21=4. I can't imagine how they treat individuals who are genuinely confused and really need help. These 2 specific individuals should not be in charge of people who are seeking/requiring help. They clearly want control which is why they entered a field of medicine where the people they "care" for have the least amount of control or agency or autonomy. If you have a choice, don't go here. If you are able to, don't go anywhere in Charleston for serious mental health rehabilitation, they are stuck in the past.
