Mental Health Providers in San Mateo, California

The last time I came to this facility was for urgent care. I came in for abnormally bad heart palpitations, worse than what I would consider normal for me. It had persisted for a few days and I could not focus on anything. The check-in process was fairly easy. I did not wait long, maybe 15 minutes, until my name was called. After about an hour of various tests and talks with the doctors they deduced it was just anxiety. The heart palpitations calmed down the following day. The service was very mixed. Some of the people I encountered were polite, others were cold and dismissive. Though I should probably give them the benefit of the doubt, since it was getting late and they were close to closing. Overall, the experience here could have definitely been more comfortable, but I have had way, WAY worse experiences at other medical facilities. It’s a good thing my heart palpitations had calmed down, sure, but not because of any actual treatment… 3/5.

If you want to come to Felton please read this. Now that I've had months to process everything. I'm here. I was at Felton last year for about 6 months. Started out normal, got my therapist and a psychiatric nurse(I think?). I have to say the best part was probably Yelice. She would work with me, and we'd try different meds. Roxanne my therapist was genuinely helpful in some ways. One thing I will note is that Roxanne went against the contract, I have no emergency contacts and not only searched my files SEPARATE from Felton but reached out to dang near everyone. I was fine 🤔. I asked for another therapist and was actually called by Sidney (the manager?)that they would not provide one and it's actually time to leave Felton because I don't qualify(location). What's crazy is I made this CLEAR when I enrolled and they signed me up. They kicked me out the door when I complained they broke their own terms? I just want to say, I have multiple disorders, and lots of problems. At that time when they let me go I was not safe to let go, but they did(kinda contrary to their "beliefs"). It's hard, but I can actually say I'm enjoying some things in life now, I can feel sometimes :). I only went here because my old psychiatrist and therapist were confident in Felton. I described to my old therapist my first impression of Felton was a 2 star motel and I should have listened to my gut. It almost cost me my life. If you want REAL help, with REAL people? Please go one life counseling in redwood city. They are non profit, and CARE about you. Sidney, you and roxanne are a bunch of punks, and roxanne I know you want me to call you something bad to make you feel better, but I'm still not that kinda person. Please beware anyone interested in Felton. Do better Roxanne. Sidney is a manager and broke rules, and looked other ways.
