This practice has a ridiculously absurd and awful "policy" that completely dismisses step parents as useless and invalid. I am a parent to several children who's "real father" isn't in their life and hasn't been for a very long time. My wife works full time and I'm retired, which leaves me to take my children to these appointments. I say my children because they are. Regardless of DNA, those kids are mine and I'm their father. This business refuses to acknowledge me as a parent, waves a hand, figuratively, at me and says they need to talk to the child's "real parent" on the phone in order to change any medications. So they interrupt my wife at her workplace to ask her questions while I'm sitting 4 feet away from them, and completely qualified to answer. I spend more time with those kids than my wife, their mother, does. I've asked them numerous times what would happen if I was a widower and those children no longer had a mother. How would we accomplish this medication change then? I get no answer. Now they've changed their policy again and the "real parent" needs to be there in person. So now I'm completely invalidated. Whoever runs this place hates step parents. As a result, my wife and 3 of our children will be taking our business elsewhere. I haven't felt this disrespected in a long time. No other doctors practice has ever done this to me and I've been taking these kids to various appointments for 11 years.
