I just recently left the Renfrew center and I wanted to write about my experience. I have ARFID making it hard for me to eat without the fear of throwing up and a lot of anxiety enforces that. It was my first time in treatment and I was so down and hopeless. The staff here were so patient and supportive throughout my journey and were always there to comfort me through my hard times. Shoutout to Laura, my therapist for being my biggest supporter. You really understood me in ways I never thought possible. As for the community, I began to feel really involved and even made some really close friends that I stay in contact with. Although Renfrew might not be perfect, they still do their best to make sure that the community has a say and address the problems that concern us. I’ll miss the staff and my friends there but I’m so glad to have them apart of my recovery! 🤍
