I normally don’t leave reviews at all, but I feel like I need to say something about my recent experiences here. The Cherokee Nation WIC in nowata at will rogers has been extremely difficult to work with lately. Almost every time I’ve come in, there’s been an issue — either the computers are down or I’m being told something completely different by a new staff member. Recently, I was told I needed a different doctor’s note for my daughter’s formula. My daughter has a very sensitive stomach and will not gain weight unless she’s on this specific formula, which costs about $75. I went through the process of getting the correct doctor’s note and brought it back, only to be told that because the computers were down, they couldn’t update anything — and since they were closing, there was nothing they could do. This means I’m now stuck without help until Monday and will have to drive back again, which is not easy for me financially or time-wise. Buying that formula out of pocket is not something I can afford. What made the situation worse was how it was handled. I felt like my concerns were dismissed, and the staff came across as rude and uninterested, like the situation was somehow my fault. There was no sense of urgency or care, even though this directly affects my child. I rely on this program, and it’s frustrating to feel like I can’t depend on it when I need it most. At this point, I’m honestly considering switching to a different WIC office because of the repeated issues. I really hope this improves, because families depend on this service
