I've been reading through the reviews and I'd like set the record straight. I've been in and out of therapy since the age of 14. I am now 44 years old and I started with Grand lake in 2020. This is the first time in my entire life that I have gone into therapy with the mindset of I was truly ready to change. This is the first time I have stuck with therapy and really put in the work. I haven't quit since 2020. I've read the reviews of people not happy with their service. The employees at Grand Lake can only help as much as the patient will let them. They cannot force a patient to continue with therapy, they cannot force the patient to go into inpatient clinic and stay there. Family members cannot force the employees at Grand Lake to help their family member. The patient is the only one that can make the decision to seek help and stick with it. The decision is not up to the family members and the decision is not up to the staff members. The only person that can make the decision is the patient. The employees at Grand Lake are only as good as the patient will allow. So for those not happy with the help that was or was not given to their family member, the issue is not the staff it is your family member and their decision. The decision has to be made by the patient no one else can do it for them.. Again, this is the first time I made the decision that I wanted to make a change and it's been up to me to stick with it. It's been a long journey but nothing was going to change until I made the decision I was ready to change. All these negative reviews are directed at the wrong person. I am grateful for the staff and the help to get me where I am today.
