In the past 35 days of sobriety, I have had time to reflect positively on my time at La Jolla Recovery. The experience was exceptional, start to finish. Although my stay there was brief comparatively, it made an affirming and long-lasting impression on me in so many ways. My admission advisor, Justene, made the accommodations so quickly and painless. She went the extra mile providing good information, clearing my small dog and best buddy to stay by my side throughout the sojourn. Caring, compassionate, angelic Izzy greeted us with reassurance; remaining a brilliant light giving wholehearted encouragement. My entire care team - starring Francisco, RN Ms. Mary and RN Alex - always kept me in good health and spirits. I learned wise things from Amy, Andrea, Matt, Shane and Val. Blake takes his role as house manager quite seriously. Residents were well cared for, and the rapport with all staff was evident. I absolutely cannot forget the Chef. In addition to keeping everyone fully fed, he went way above in painstakingly making amazing vegetarian meals especially for me. My game has changed; I have leveled up appropriately. For the first time in years I am confident in stride knowing I have the power over alcohol. I may come across highs, lows, in-betweens – that is a given.
