What a poor existence some of the workers here have , having a chance to better humanity and be a better human themselves but completely fail and waste it being full of ignorance and pride. My own counselor Kate Lapp told me she didn’t want to be in substance abuse but it was the only job available and while that was unprofessional I was still open to seeing some decency in her as a person in this field but it’s clear she was correct and only views anyone coming in those doors as less than human, along with the supervisors I spoke to. Misinformation, miscommunication , no de-escalation, and a true lack of empathy at its best. Having a title means nothing and in this field people do need help not be met with the ignorance I have been met with and I am sure plenty others experience. I understand not one person can do everything in their power but one person can do their job and work as a team to hear and acknowledge others and find effective ways to move forward instead of run and hide or team up against those seeking treatment or doing their best. There’s some beautiful people working there but the ones who couldn’t care less ruin it for everyone one bad apple changes dynamics and if you’re not willing to do what’s right then you’re just as wrong . Being a supervisor in this place is meaningless. Find your passion again and do something good, because as of now you’re better retiring or finding a different field. Things need to be revised or people need to REMEMBER what they’re doing things for.
