This past summer, I was required by NJ to go through a DUI educational program for a first offense, slap-on-wrist DUI offense discharged on merit while visiting Delaware first semester of my sophomore year of college 22 years prior. The nation's state DMVs have been integrating into a unified national system and Delaware was requiring I complete a DUI educational program in summer 2024 backdated to that college offense. I chose this counseling agency as it was the closest of a few options provided by Delaware. While things didn't feel right almost right away on the intake interview, after only a few weeks, I abruptly regretted the decision. I was very boisterously, aggressively and inappropriately verbally attacked on completely false grounds, in a group setting no less. At this point, I felt I had made a big mistake choosing this agency. I forced myself to continue because I had already committed a good amount of money and time to the process and naturally was targeting completion. The unprofessional, inappropriate, dishonest, and demeaning treatment I was targeted with continued. To be clear, my experience was only in the DUI program. And to be even clearer, the one week of twenty I attended that there was a different substitute counselor, it went exactly as you'd expect. That counselor was a pleasure to be with, and worked through the meeting 100% appropriately, the hour flew by and it was shocking the extreme difference. Why I was being constantly targeted inappropriately by the primary counselor, I can only speculate but I'll give you a clue based on my experienced and very confident opinion - textbook narcissists shouldn't be counselors. I very much hoped he would let whatever silly game he was playing go and behave appropriately. That did not happen. Many weeks of continued manipulation/targeting and inappropriate counseling occurred, I was and still am in utter disbelief a man can behave, target, and manipulate that way in that role. I felt it my moral obligation to leave this review to allow anyone who feels it may be wise to choose another agency to avoid any risk of this happening to them. God's my witness I would never leave an untrue or misguided review, I've only ever left one negative review on Google along with many 5-star rave reviews - for a steam-cleaning company that was completely out of line ethically the same way as this counseling agency. You can verify that yourself. I must hold the whole agency accountable in this review because the owner condoned and ultimately cosigned everything aforementioned that had happened with zero objective investigation, malpractice in this situation. This was a stressful process in an educational/counseling environment in which it should have been the exact opposite, as evidenced by the single week there was a substitute counselor. To sum it up? I wouldn't use this agency again for any program offered, not only if it was free, but if they paid me many, many times the costs to attend in the first place. Once again, this is almost completely about one particular counselor and how he was completely out of line on a weekly basis in an abuse of power/leverage, evidently sadistic in nature. I wouldn't hire this man for this position in a million years and he'd have been fired yesterday in order to make for a simple, significant upgrade. This man and agency owner should be absolutely ashamed of themselves. I was very close to filing a lawsuit - but it's just not worth the overall commitment and I'd rather have nothing to do with them moving forward. I'll simply practice patience, trust God's plan, and find a far superior agency to complete this program. Take that as you may and best of luck in your search for your service. I'd anticipate they respond to this review and attempt to lie their way out of it at this point, that'd make a lot of sense based on the games played until the very end of my experience. Maybe they won't? It won't change the Truth either way. A 2-man operation, 2 narcissists, the owner covert, the other overt, far better options exist. Choose wisely.
