My son received a callback to schedule a 48 hour IDRC class. The employee he spoke to reviewed aspects of his case and said he needed to attend 2 48 hour classes. I had to pay for them so I asked if they were different information that would be shared. She said both classes were identical and I was being honest when I said that it seemed it was more about the money. These classes were in excess of $300 and my son is not working. He is caregiver for his son that has cerebral palsy and for me as I had a spinal tumor that left me in a wheelchair after surgery. When I gave the associate my card it was declined initially and she rudely stated that we should call back when we had the money. I told her that my card had sufficient funds but the transaction was blocked and I received a verification text from my bank. I asked her to hold on while I confirmed that the transaction was valid and she tried again and it was approved. Throughout the interaction Maria was rude and very condescending. I understand that she may have felt superior as she was dealing with a person that had several DWI but you never know what a person is going through and I think an institution like Hope should be respectful to clients. My son never received notification that theses classes were required and completed Drug Court. He was in an in-patient facility, then transitioned to a work release program and was on probation for 5 years. This happened 8 years ago and my son is moving on with his life and has really been a blessing to me and a dedicated father to his son! I did not need Maria to undermine his confidence by emphasizing that he had multiple DWI. She said she was the supervisor but had very poor people skills.
