Mental Health Providers in Paramus, New Jersey

Everyone was so sweet leading up to my appointment, once I got there and spoke with the dr he was so cold and made me feel worse than I did when I came in. I was supposed to get a treatment today and he told me I wouldn’t be able to if I use marijuana, which I told the people on the phone I did. He told me I wasn’t a candidate for either treatment because I am struggling to quit marijuana and the last time I did I tried walking into oncoming traffic because the depression was just too much to handle and that’s how I ended up going for tms therapy, and basically told me if I can’t quit how can I be a mom. I wanted the tms to help with my substance abuse, depression, and anxiety so I can stop to become a mom one day. Very upset with how I was treated :(

This experience has been the most distressing I have encountered. The psychiatric nurse practitioner assigned to me exhibited extreme aggression and confrontational behavior, displaying an agitated demeanor that was unlike anything I have encountered in my mental health journey. After spending a full day following a list provided by my insurance company, I decided to seek private care to address my needs in a more tranquil and soothing environment. I am seeking a professional who can provide me with answers in a calm and caring manner, rather than someone who confronts and attacks me. This establishment should be avoided, as it has a history of treating patients poorly.
