While I do not have firsthand experience with Ascend Behavioral Health Network, I feel compelled to leave this review based on the leadership behind it. The managing partner, Ian Treacy, was also the founder of Amethyst Recovery Center in Port St. Lucie, Florida, where my family did have direct experience. What Ian built at Amethyst set the bar for what quality, compassionate, and accountable addiction treatment should look like. After seven long years of watching my son battle the disease of addiction, we experienced firsthand the heartbreak that so many families know too well: lack of care, lack of accountability, lack of available beds, broken promises, inadequate treatment, and little to no aftercare. Amethyst was different. From the very first call, there was urgency, follow-through, and compassion. Insurance was verified, transportation was arranged, and barriers were removed quickly—giving my son the best possible chance before addiction could change his mind. What followed was a level of care I had not seen elsewhere: dedicated and qualified clinicians, staff who had truly “walked the walk,” structured accountability, genuine belonging, and programming that went beyond the basics—adventure therapy, fitness, family involvement, and real aftercare planning. Most importantly, Amethyst gave me something I had lost along the way: hope. My son has since passed from this disease. But knowing what I know now—and knowing who Ian is, how he leads, and the standard of care he demands—I can say without hesitation that I would have trusted Ascend Behavioral Health Network with my son’s life. If Ascend reflects even a portion of the heart, integrity, and commitment that Ian brought to Amethyst, then there is real good to be had there. Families searching for ethical, compassionate, and accountable treatment deserve leaders like this in the recovery space. Five stars, with gratitude and respect.
