Mental Health Providers in Moraine, Ohio

My autistic son is a patient there and has been for a couple of years, they are good as far as as his occupational therapy goes, though he has gone 3 so far. The connections we have made with their assistance was great when we first started as far as community services but now we don't even know who helps us with that. His prescriber is barely ever there and is difficult to get a hold of and he often runs out of medication quite often. One of the medications he was prescribed gave him a bad reactions (rash and hallucinations) and couldn't get ahold of the prescriber for almost a week. Got a call from the school telling us not to send him until the problem was resolved. It's been quite disappointing. If you have a child with autism, do your research. This place wouldn't be my first choice.

Dayton Behavioral Care really does CARE. Count on a smile at check-in and possibly an Epic beard, depending on who is greeting you. I've never waited more than a minute or two. Everyone in the office serves graciously with competence and efficiency focused on meeting client needs. Christina Dueno, in particular, refuses to be locked in a defining/confining box and goes out of her way to learn more, seek longer, scout out unique perspectives, and pick up on the latest innovations and research.

Family Services was there for me when I needed counseling the most. I was matched with a therapist who specialized in PTSD recovery (and yes, recovery from PTSD is possible!). After completing the program, I am able to continue a therapeutic relationship with my counselor for maintenance and trouble shooting. The point is, when I was at my very lowest and barely able to even make the phone call for help, Family Services scooped me up and planted my back on my feet. It wasn't easy, and my therapist made me WORK, but I am more myself than I ever thought I could be--and I love that.
