No help whatsoever for families with children with autism. Refused residential despite it being recommended by 2 professionals because "Our stance is that we cannot use medicaid funding for long term residential because it goes against the seclusion and restraint mental health code". spent 11 days in the ER and ended up having to go home. During those 11 days my son had to be sedated multiple times due to self injury and injury of others around him and SHW response was that it was the minimum people hurt and he was safe in the ER, HE WAS NOT. Security had to be called multiple times and he left bruises, a black eye, and made me bleed as well as attacked the ER staff. SHW refuses respite, ABA won't take him and recommended residential, SHW refuses residential, the doctor there would not up his Depakote, just now offered OT because the caseworker didn't think of it, this place is a joke. They lie, they make nothing but excuses, and they are useless. I wish those who have medicaid had other choices because unfortunately having to rely on SHW you are stuck not getting the help your kid needs and deserves. Useless.
