Hospital-Based Behavioral Health Center
I was in the ER for 6 1/2 hours and finally able to be discharged. The staff was excellent! However, I had to play musical chairs in the waiting room because waiting patients were either vomiting or coughing. I did obtain a mask and just kept moving around to not be exposed to their illnesses. This was a concern and the long ER visit was a problem, especially because I was sitting in a chair in the ER hall all of this time. I had had 1/2 of a grapefruit for breakfast and nothing more to eat, being discharged at 1830. I did ask for a glass of water. The ER doctor wanted to admit me, but after a lengthy discussion, he let me go home. I didn't want to be admitted knowing the hospital was full and the ER was over capacity, with many of us in the halls. I was concerned that my admission would be in the ER hall for hours or days! (I'm a McLaren volunteer and knew that the hospital was at capacity.) Again, all of the staff were wonderful!
