Mental Health Providers in Richmond, Michigan

My first time in a rehab facility, did not feel safe. Very uncomfortable with the co-ed detox " wing" . Open women's bathroom/ shower, loud, staff was very condescending. Had a " moment " with one of the nurses and was told to " keep my mouth shut". Worst experience in my life in a very long time. They treat you like you're putting them out. No communication. It's basically a " jail or rehab" joint. Too many problem people. Gangster wanna- be attitude. When admitted, didn't give me my money, contacts, phone list, nobody showed me around, and then after transferred to resident living, they expected you to do labor. Nope nope nope. Stay away.

The mind is subjective and so is therapy, i believe if you have a bad experience you simply try somewhere else which may practice a different field of psychology that could help more. Therapist are a guide like a GPS, but I feel like too many people expect them to take the wheel and just fix their problems for them. I had a great experience and have been able to get myself not only in college but running again and I would feel comfortable going back if need be. Therapist were great and that’s all that matters to me!
