As a college student who really needed guidance and support, this place has helped me more than I can put into words. Finding therapy that takes Medicare was already difficult, but finding one that truly changed my life felt impossible until I came here. Audrey is hands down the best therapist I’ve ever had, and I’ve been in therapy for many years with different providers. She is compassionate, understanding, and truly cares. I’ve grown so much because of her support. This place was genuinely a blessing in my life, and I couldn’t recommend it more.

I am going to put an honest review here because I couldn’t find one personally. At Hiawatha Hall, it is hard to find a staff member that acts professionally and/or understands what’s truly going on. During my stay here, I had to pay for my own food (outside of dinner), my own personal hygiene items, and anything extra I needed. They do not share their wifi password(s), so if you don’t have mobile data, good luck completing anything personal online. There isn’t a whole lot of structure either. There are three scheduled groups, one in the morning, one around noon, and one right after dinner. If you ask a question about visiting hours, you won’t get a straight answer (I found that it’s best from 1pm-5pm). You are allowed to leave after you “level up”, but again on limited hours and only specific times during the day. While I was in treatment at this facility, there was an incident with another client. This client had an outburst and destroyed property and harmed themselves. The staff swept this under the rug and there were no repercussions for this client due to their actions. After myself and the other clients voiced our concerns about our personal safety having this client still around, the staff member made inappropriate jokes trying to disregard our concerns and lighten the mood. Overall, I do not see how this specific home can assist one's mental well being and I would recommend finding treatment elsewhere if you truly want any hope of getting better.

The actual therapists are great, but front desk staff has quickly gone downhill. I used to be contacted hours in advance in case an appointment had to be cancelled. Now, I’m contacted hours after the appointment would have been over. Sometimes I’m not even contacted about cancellation at all. When I call and ask why I haven’t been notified about an appointment cancellation, they insist that they DID call me despite not having any missed calls or voicemails from the front desk whatsoever. I think it’s extremely unfair for clients not to be notified ahead of time if an appointment needs to be cancelled. They need to be better about this.
