Wasted my time doing a phone intake to only tell me after the fact, that they are refusing to see me because I use marijuana occasionally to help with my insomnia. Apparently anyone who uses any kind of substance is not welcome as a new patient in this facility. Because sleep deprivation is something people should deal with if they want help with their mental health. They then referred me to a place that treats people for substance abuse when I was looking to have my ADHD managed. I shouldn't be surprised though, because this was the place I went to in my early 20s and they refused to even entertain the idea that I had ADHD. Instead they diagnosed me as bipolar type 5 and put me on mood stabilizers that did nothing, because I don't have any type of bipolar disorder. I have ADHD, depression, anxiety, and PTSD and was refused treatment for using a low dose of a completely legal substance to help me sleep on the nights that my insomnia is unmanageable.

I would give this place 0 stars if i could. I left a little while ago and this was the worst place i've ever gotten help at. Knowing myself i knew that i did not need to come here and coming there made my life so much worse. i was isolated from my friends and my family affecting my relationships with them drastically. I am 16 years old and i know what’s best for me and this place wasn’t best for me. I chose this place thinking it would be a safe place for me instead it would be a place i would dread to go to. My therapist would yell at me call me a spoiled brat and say im entitled because i wanted to leave, i was accused of being called a liar because my mental health was getting better. This is not a place for ur kids to get a better mental health it’s a place for your kids to feel like they are crazy. I did learn some valuable skills and i still use them today so maybe it wasn’t all bad. But i believe that my mental health got so much better when i was finally free. Now i am back with my original therapist and couldn’t be happier. i may be young but i stand by this opinion and so do many, and i mean many other kids in this program. So many kids felt scared to speak out or even try to due to the fact no one would believe them, when the only person who knows best for you, Is YOURSELF. I am sorry for coming on here and leaving a bad review but this program in this specific location, need to fix the way they do things. I hope that other Genpsychs were nothing like this and didnt treat the kids like robots or prisoners. A child shouldn’t dread going to a program that is supposed to help them. Instead of making the kids there feel welcome and help them feel like this facility was a safe space it made them feel crazier. I was never really able to understand why i had to be followed just to use the restroom. I encourage people to get help when they really need it and my friend did at another IOP program, due to the fact this one was horrible. I would always think to myself that it will never get better but it does. Sadness is temporary and don’t let someone tell you how you need to feel. I don’t know what the Adult program is like but I do not recommend the adolescent program for your kids. And yes there were definitely amazing people at this place and i bet other kids definitely felt welcome but some people don’t deserve to work with kids if they cannot understand a child’s mind. I loved Ian, and the techs they were awesome. I’ve heard other good reviews about one specific therapist that I did not have but I bet he was amazing.
