First it took them 5 months to make my then 14yr old crisis patient an appointment with the Pyschiatrist. They don’t return phone calls. His counselor quit or got fired who knows, but they never set me my son up with a new counselor or advised me that she was gone. I had to find out by texting her and her telling me she no longer worked there. Since then no one has reached out to setup an appointment for him. My son has Biploar 1; schizophrenia, anxiety, depression, ptsd, past methaphetamine exposure prior to being put in foster care, the past Suicidal Ideation visits and 4 Pyschiatric stays since we got him 7 yrs ago. He had threatened to kill heimself, blow up the school, kill the teacher with a knife while walking around sharpening it outside, and now has threats of cutting kids heads off. Hes been on meds since I got him in 2017 apx a week after placement and had a psychiatrist & counselors. This all was going good in Kansas, but since moving back to Texas and trying to get help with Andrew’s Center has been devastatingly hard. We are trying to get outside home placement and the Pyschiatrist, CRCG, and post adoption are onboard. But I find out after the counselor quit that she is probably the reason we didn’t get it because she didn’t agree with outside place. He’s a manipulator and narcissist so I guess he had her wrapped around her finger , because like she always said, “he reminds me of my brother”. Son went to his four Pyschiatrist facility and was scheduled with a counselor by the Pyschiatric facility with someone. I called to verify the address and asked about the appointment, the person I spoke with told me the person he had been scheduled with wasn’t even a 15yr olds counselor, she was an adult counselor & that someone would call me back with more information. After 5 calls and messages being left throughout the day I called back to get more information. I was told the appointment was canceled because the counselor was an adult counselor. If I hadn’t called back I would have drove for 1.5hrs, took my son out of his alternative school, just to be told the appointment was canceled. I gave 1 star because Dr Furlong has been helpful thus far.
