I cannot recommend this practice for patients who require reliable psychiatric continuity of care. Over the past year, I was not consistently assigned a psychiatrist, and prior to that experienced repeated provider changes without stable longitudinal oversight. Psychiatric treatment requires consistent provider assignment and structured medication management. That continuity was not reliably maintained. During my most recent appointment, I arrived early and was present in the lobby from 8:10 AM for an 8:15 AM appointment. After navigating check-in issues and resolving a financial verification requirement (despite that information already being on file within another department), I was ultimately still waiting over an hour past my scheduled time. At 9:20 AM, more than 60 minutes past my appointment time, I made the decision to leave and requested that my presence and wait time be documented. While individual staff members were polite when directly engaged, the overall administrative systems demonstrated significant inefficiencies and lack of coordination. For patients seeking stable, timely psychiatric care — especially those requiring medication oversight — I would strongly encourage confirming how continuity and scheduling delays are handled before establishing care here.

I have been in the VA system for treatment since 2006 out of all of that time and all of the services I have been through I have had one bad doctor. My only negative experience. I have been treated professionally and with reasonable timing with excellent doctors, excellent nurses and the staff is off the charts with exellent services. Because of moving I have been in several different locations many different doctors many different locations and have never never been disappointed. I am a vietnam-era veteran. I still get excellent Service as a former WAC. ( Woman's Army Corps member). Thank you for taking such good care of us!!!

Title: Clear Communication and Care Coordination Needed I want to share my experience with Aspire Hospital regarding a loved one. When I first called to verify their medication list, the nurse was unclear, and the doctor never returned my call. I was reaching out because the patient’s behavior was concerning, potentially dangerous, and appeared worse than when they first arrived. The patient was later transferred to Conroe Emergency due to tremors, but the hospital reported that all tests came back normal. The next day, the patient ended up in the Methodist Emergency Room because their arms were flailing uncontrollably, their legs were swollen, and they were experiencing severe head pain. Finally, I was able to speak with the caseworker at Methodist Hospital, who said she could not obtain the full medication list and that Aspire had not allowed the patient to return. Once the team—including the caseworker, the nurse who confirmed the diagnosis, the pharmacy, and Dr. Heran, a knowledgeable psychiatrist who clearly explained the best next steps—coordinated a transfer to Kingwood Pines, the patient began to stabilize and communicate more clearly. I want to emphasize that I am sharing this to inform, not to harm. At one point, when I called because the patient sounded worse and spoke with the nurse, the doctor contacted a family member, reportedly due to concerns about potential legal issues. I did not fully understand this action, but it added confusion during an already stressful time. Overall, this experience highlights the critical importance of clear communication and coordination between hospital staff, caseworkers, and family members during urgent situations.
