My daughter attended Newport for 35 days. Coming from a parents standpoint I would say Newport was ok. The communication between staff and with parents is not good at all. Trying to get information and updates is like pulling teeth. Some staff seem just there to be there while others really cared about the kids. My daughter has said there were some people she connected very well with while others were not friendly. I do believe the staff who worked with my daughter did really try to help her however some of them seemed to see her as another messed up kid who they needed to help. The two people she connected with were her family therapist and the music teacher. The family therapist who's name was Maddie really connected with her and cared. She was great at showing her compassion and understanding.
