My father just had a four night stay after a surgery. I want to start by saying that there were a few staff members that were absolutely phenomenal and that’s why I’m leaving two stars instead of one…although I had to debate it because, I overall would not recommend people trust their care to this place. I was honestly horrified at the condition of the room (holes everywhere, stains on the walls) and the lack of empathy and concern from so much of the staff. I ended up staying around the clock just so I was there to beg for basic care for my father which was not happening. Also, I don’t know if the AC in his room was broken or if there just wasn’t any but his room consistently became sweltering hot and when I complained about it, they suggested I leave his door open, which would help slightly but interrupted his sleep as there was constantly yelling and alarms CONSTANTLY going off, not that shutting the door helped that problem very much anyway. When we arrived at the rehab center he was transferring to, it was like I had re-entered real life where so many of the concerns I kept having at the hospital were noticed and addressed quicker than I could even point them out to the staff. These were concerns that were almost consistently dismissed or outright ignored in the hospital. I shudder to think what could’ve happened to my father during that four night stay, had he not had us there to advocate for him.
