Compared to our last provider, I really thought we had found a good place with LVF, however, my experience this morning has proven otherwise. I had trouble finding the link for my daughters 10am appt and called at 10:03am for assistance but then had technical difficulties with my microphone and logging in from the computer and finally got in at 10:08am only to be told we were marked as a no show by 10:05am. The appointment is only a 20 minute appt so the provider now got a 15 min break and no one could contact her and no one offered to help me reschedule. Everything is “call this number”. 5 calls later and we finally have a new appt scheduled but with zero empathy from anyone I spoke with. I am working today, I have meetings, my daughter is home from school for an in service day which is why I scheduled her appt for today. The first option provided for a next appt was 11am on a Thursday, right in the middle of her school day. The next option was March 18th. I don’t know whether I’m more frustrated with the lack of empathy and understanding or the 5 minute policy. I understand the providers are busy but so are families with children and jobs. I am truly disgusted by this interaction and will be removing my daughter from this practice after this appointment.

My 15 year old son was admitted there for aggressive and explosive behaviors. He was sent there because I, as his primary care giver, could not handle him at home due to his physical strength that exceeded my capacity. We were in pretty dangerous situations multiple times and I was utterly desperate. That being said, I did not expect a perfect environment for him there because there is no such place. I set my expectations reasonably about what would be going on there. There were some issues that concerned me while he was there, but I was able to contact the therapists for my son pretty easily and they were trying to address the concerns. My son had two therapists during his stay because they moved him to another building at some point, and both of them were great and treated my son kindly. Initially the medication change did not work for my son and made his symptoms worse, but they were able to change and add new medications to get his condition more stabilized. The people's jobs to take care of the kids there are not easy, and I approached them with respect and thankfulness because I believed they did what they could do to take care of my son there. I saw many complaints about this place in bad reviews, but if people set their expectations reasonably and work with the facility team with respectful and thankful attitude, they will see that the facility is doing what they can do to help the kids and the families. It is not a five star hotel, so if anyone expects that kind of service there, they will be disappointed and will have many things to complain about. But for me, the bottom line is that my son was there safely, and they were trying to accommodate his needs while he was there. My son's condition still is not completely stabilized because they did not have time to finish titration of his medications, which we will have to work with an outpatient psychiatrist. But, he came back home in a better condition than when he went there. So I am willing to give them a 5 star review because I believe this place is helping many families.
