Please research BEFORE you decide to send your child to this place. It's SUPPOSED to be for children with mental disabilities and special needs, but this particular site ( Monroeville) is NOT equipped to deal with them. If they were as efficient in childcare and education as they are in gas lighting parents, this place would be a TOP rated facility. Instead, whenever a situation arises, they call you at work and expect you to drop everything and come and retrieve your child ASAP! I don't know of anyone in this current economy who has the ability to just leave work at their whimsy. I don't believe in my personal opinion they have the knowledge, patience or qualification, to deal with children with special needs as this facility is supposed to be designed for. I was told by the nurse to come and pick up my grandson because he was "sick and throwing up". I explained he wasn't sick when he left home, and that he only threw up because he doesn't like taking his medication. She said "this is how norovirus is spread, and he has a FEVER" I tried repeatedly emphasizing he wasn't sick but to no a vail. With some back and forth she informed me they HAD to send him home. When my grandson came home my daughter immediately checked his temperature. It was 98.7 Personally we feel lied to. This place will find ANY reason to NOT be bothered or take the time to deescalate an unruly child. All the behaviors that have been brought to our attention, aren't any that are common at all in our home. We asked can we please be shown some type of footage of this behavior, so we can see what's triggering him. This sight has NO CAMERAS!!! How can we fix a problem that only takes place when he's in their care? This isn't some unhinged rant of a disgruntled patron...this is a loving grandmother who's done EVERYTHING that's been asked of her and now I'm at the end of my rope.
