⚠️I wish I could give ZERO stars.. Ill start with this; IYKYK. I was a patient here for 8 years. I can honestly say this place is absolutely HORRIBLE, and would NEVER recommend them to anyone looking to start methadone/Suboxone, or continue their recovery. FIRST OFF, to clarify; No, I am not some disgruntled patient who broke rules, didn't try or care about my recovery, etc. I was a MODEL patient for the entire time I was a patient at Spectrum. I NEVER failed a drug test, I NEVER missed a call back, I NEVER missed a dose- I attended ALL my meetings, and even brought the staff gifts for the Holidays- And yet, the treatment I ultimately received almost cost me my sobriety. I won't go into all the details; If you want them, feel free to reach out. (In the meantime, Google "spectrum health systems lawsuit(s)". Plenty to take a peek at 😉). This place uses people's take home doses as a weapon- making you fight for them (when they are your RIGHT as a patient under both MA law, federal Law AND in their own handbook), and threaten to take them (and often do) for ANY issue. They also threaten you with discharge, or a decrease in your dose, (knowing all too well what happens to a patient who is NOT medically tapered), the list goes on and on.. They have the highest turnover rate in staff I have EVER witnessed in my life. In 8 years, the Southbridge location went through 3 "medical directors", 3 Nurse Practitioners, 5 "clinical directors", 8+ nurses, and COUNTLESS clinicians. Literally, I can't even remember the names of all the clinicians I had. That *should* tell you all you need to know. The place is filthy- I made the mistake (ONCE) of offering to dump the water cooler catch tray (when it said "tray full")- that was it.🤢 The "security guard" (while a nice woman) was NOT qualified to do anything should a situation arise, and she was one of at least 6 or 7 that had come and gone as well. Overall, my last 3 months were the worst. I came to the clinical director with an issue I needed help with. In the end, I asked for a 10mg increase, as I had been on the same dose for 6+ years and had built a tolerance (as expected). Instead of providing it, they made me wait WEEKS AND WEEKS, while they met once per week as a "team" to "discuss" my issues. To start, they took away all 27 of my takehomes (which I'd had for YEARS). Then, they put me back on daily medicating, which was very difficult with my full time job. Finally, they made me drive 50+ mins to the Lincoln st clinic every Sunday, as they wouldn't even provide me with a single closure takehome for the day they were closed. And after all that, sill NO increase. I ended up writing them (the coordinator, medical director, and Nurse Practitioner) a 7 page letter detailing ALL of my time at the clinic, and outlining the help I needed, along with referencing all applicable MA & federal laws & statutes regarding prescribing methadone. I also brought up the point that their "Nurse Practitioner", who is directly in charge of prescribing methadone to all patients, has NO background, experience or education in addiction medicine, prescribing methadone, etc. As a result, I ended up loosing my job, a job that I had just started- that I worked SO hard for; as daily dosing interfered with my schedule. In the end, instead of trying to help, the coordinator simply suggested that I should "find a new clinic". So I did. That was in October of 2024. In closing, if you are serious about your recovery, PLEASE do your research. Look into the company, reach out to former (or present) patients, as this place is NOT interested in helping anyone. They line their pockets VERY well, treat patients like inmates, and have NO business running a methadone clinic whatsoever. I am now at a new clinic, and I could NOT be happier I found them. They do whatever they can to help you, and honestly care about their patients. If you want to be sucessful in your recovery, and get your life back, call Addiction Immediate Care in Webster, MA. I promise you will not regret it ❤️
